Shopping
We’re a dedicated, cross-functional team of experts – software engineers, data engineers, data scientists and a product manager – on a mission to build and maintain the foundation of Coop’s products, offers, and personalized shopping experiences.
Think of us as the orchestrator behind the deals and discounts you see on coop.no, the Coop app, and eCom platforms (obsbygg.no & obs.no). Our Offer API powers everything from weekly campaigns, digital leaflets to banner ads, ensuring that Coop’s marketing is automated, efficient, and data-driven.
We love tackling complex challenges, making life easier for customers and marketers alike. Whether it’s automating content creation, optimizing digital campaigns, or streamlining campaign data across multiple channels, we’re always pushing for smarter solutions.
Coop.no
The coop.no core website is maintained and developed by a dedicated cross-functional agile team. We believe that by bringing together diverse talents and expertise, we set ourselves up to create cutting-edge digital solutions.
We follow Agile principles to maintain flexibility, transparency, and continuous improvement. Our teams work in iterative cycles, allowing us to adapt quickly to changing requirements and deliver value incrementally. Key practices include daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinements, demos and retrospectives, which promote open communication, joint ownership, and a shared sense of purpose.
Our web team contains designers, front- and backend software engineers, QA specialists, a tech lead and a product manager, all working together towards a common goal. This diverse mix of skills and perspectives enables us to tackle complex challenges and deliver holistic solutions. By breaking down silos, we ensure a collaborative environment where we can leverage our collective expertise.
We are committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. We hold team agreement workshops to create close-working, high-performing teams with agreed processes, setting ourselves up to deliver change quickly. Member & Partner
The Member & Partner team plays a key role in managing Coop’s membership program, ensuring a seamless experience for our members. We handle everything from sign-ups and profile management to physical card handling and data quality, making sure member information remains accurate and accessible. Additionally, we are responsible for Coop’s Partner API, which enables partners to search for members, onboard them in services like Coop Mastercard, and report bonus transactions that generate member benefits.
Our team consist of a product manager, tech lead and primarily backend software engineers, collaborating closely with other teams and departments to align our membership program with Coop’s objectives. We are dedicated to creating and delivering attractive products and services within the Member & Partner domain, always striving to enhance the experience for end customers.
With a strong focus on customer-centric innovation, we develop solutions that prioritize convenience, accessibility, and simplicity. At the same time, we support Coop’s business goals by driving member engagement, improving customer experience, and ensuring operational efficiency.

Payment Services and Unmanned Stores
Our team plays a key role in managing payment solutions and ensuring a seamless payment experience for our members. Additionally, we are driving innovation in digitally manned stores, making retail smarter and more accessible for our customers.
Coopay
Coopay is our mobile payment solution, seamlessly integrated with the Coop app and our e-commerce platform. With over 1 million users and 100,000 daily transactions, it is a critical part of our business, and we are committed to staying at the forefront of mobile payments.
Our ambition is to establish Coopay as a preferred payment method by integrating loyalty benefits and value-added services. This includes standalone features like digital
refunds and automatic age validation within Coopay, as well as integrations with other services. For example, Coopay users can benefit from free parking at Coop’s parking facilities. Recently, we have also experimented with Coopay as a payment method at Coop-sponsored events, expanding its reach and impact.
Digitally Manned Stores
Our digitally manned store concept allows customers to shop without staff present. Using the CoopKey app, customers can unlock stores and shop outside of regular opening hours. This fully digital shopping experience provides greater flexibility for shoppers while optimizing store operations and profitability.
The team is continuously improving this solution to enhance both store efficiency and customer convenience.

Identity Platform
The Identity Platform team provides convenient, secure, and reliable digital identity services to more than 2.5 million registered users. We develop and maintain high-quality authentication, authorization, and identity management solutions that integrate all of Coop’s digital services.
A seamless login experience is a priority for us, enabling customers to access services and membership benefits effortlessly while development teams and partners have the right tools to build secure applications without unnecessary complexity. We also provide an authorization server for applications, ensuring the highest security, reliability, and performance standards in machine-to-machine interactions.
